Building a Future at Airbus: Suzie’s Story
From welding sparks to aircraft wings, Suzie Edwards is embracing every opportunity to grow and thrive at Airbus. Now training as a Wing Fitter, she shares how her passion for engineering, drive to learn, and determination to never settle for less brought her to one of the world’s leading aerospace manufacturers.

Introducing Suzie

My name is Suzie, and I’m currently training as a wing fitter with Airbus through Guidant Global. I joined the team to challenge myself, gain new skills, and build on the experience I already had in engineering. It’s been a fantastic step forward, one that’s opening new doors for my career.

My career path so far

Before Airbus, I trained as a Welder and Fabricator and spent several years in the engineering industry. I’ve always enjoyed hands-on technical work, but I was ready for a new challenge. Airbus offered the chance to continue learning and to grow in an environment that supports development and progress. It was a chance I knew I couldn’t pass up.

A look at my day-to-day

Each day is focused on learning and developing both new and existing skills. The training is excellent and directly aligned with Airbus’ commitment to quality. I love that I get to apply techniques from my past experience while constantly improving in a new and exciting setting.

A supportive and inclusive culture

What stands out to me most is the company culture. Everyone is treated equally and encouraged to contribute. It’s a welcoming, collaborative atmosphere where everyone is part of the team and that really makes a difference to the working environment.

Why my role is so rewarding

Airbus offers real opportunities for career development and long-term success. I also appreciate the work-life balance that this role provides - it’s something I hadn’t experienced before in previous roles, and it’s made a huge impact.

My onboarding experience

The onboarding process with Guidant Global was really smooth and straightforward. Everything was clearly explained, and any questions I had were quickly resolved. I felt supported and ready from the start.

My advice for future candidates

If you’re considering a career with Airbus, I’d say go for it. Make the most of every opportunity you’re offered. Read carefully, follow instructions for the skills test, and trust the process. It’s a great place to build your future.
